Students at Plain Dealing and Bossier High were in for a big surprise before going on Fall Break. More than 100 of them went home with personal laptops, thanks to AT&T.

The telecommunications company has pledged to help close the digital divide by investing $5 billion dollars between now and 2030.

“What we look for are communities across the state where we can help close that digital divide, whether it’s placing fiber, access, amplifying our cell service, but also providing access; laptops, computers. We just opened a computer lab in Shreveport,” said Levar Greenhouse, Regional Director of External Affairs for AT&T Louisiana.

Greenhouse added AT&T is trying to ensure the company touches every community it can. Gifting laptops to Bossier High and Plain Dealing serves as a start in Bossier Parish.

Students at Plain Dealing were both shocked and overwhelmed when they were handed laptops, backpacks and more at a surprise school assembly. Bossier Schools thanks AT&T for its generosity and putting students first.
